Accessibility statement

At Tagula we consider it important that the site be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This page sets out what has actually been done, what has not yet been done, and how to contact us if you encounter difficulty.

Accessibility status

The site was built with careful attention to the WCAG 2.1 accessibility principles at level AA, and in the spirit of Israeli Standard SI 5568.

However, the site has not yet undergone a professional, certified accessibility audit, and so we do not declare that it fully meets the standard. We prefer to say this explicitly rather than make a declaration that has not been tested. A professional audit is planned, and this statement will be updated according to its findings.

What has been implemented

  • A permanent accessibility menu in the corner of the screen, available on every page, with these options: larger text, high contrast, readable font, highlight links and stop animations. The choice is saved for future visits.
  • Proper semantic structure with a heading hierarchy, and full keyboard navigation.
  • Clear, visible marking of the element that has keyboard focus.
  • Full right-to-left (RTL) directionality for Hebrew and a declared document language, so that screen readers read correctly.
  • Labels linked to every field in the contact form, and error messages that are read aloud.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 pixels, for the comfort of users with motor difficulties.
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion setting (prefers-reduced-motion): animations stop automatically.
  • Decorative elements (the background video and the moving illustration) are hidden from assistive technologies and carry no information. The video is not loaded when data saver is on, on a slow connection, or when a reduced-motion preference is set.
  • The site is adapted for browsing on mobile and tablet.

Known limitations

We prefer to list what has not yet been completed:

  • No systematic measurement of contrast ratios has been made across all text and background combinations on the site. Some secondary text may have lower contrast than required, which can be corrected immediately with High contrast in the accessibility menu.
  • Some headings are shown in a colour gradient. For anyone who finds this difficult, the Readable font option replaces them with a solid colour at full contrast.
  • The site has not been tested against every combination of screen readers and browsers.
  • External documents linked in the future may not be accessible.
